It's to the tune of 20 years

A team of talented musicians trumpeted their success - celebrating 20 years of making music.

The Cadbury Wind Band presented afternoon music workshops, a celebration buffet and a grand finale concert at Clevedon school to commemorate the special anniversary.

Clowance Lockyer, a former band member who is now a music teacher, led a percussion workshop concentrating on clapping, slapping and stamping to create rhythm. She later gave a demonstration of her skills on the concert marimba by playing two solo items during the concert.

Other demonstrations included woodwind and brass workshops and visitors were also invited to take part in a general band rehearsal - with many joining in the main concert.

Band spokesman Julia Williams said: "There was a real spirit of camaraderie as beginners played alongside professionals, children played next to pensioners and everyone enjoyed music making at its best."

Former band member Denise White also delighted the audience with her solo of Someone to Watch Over Me.

Teenager Jack Line performed his debut solo on trumpet with the tune Stardust.
