September 27th 1999 saw us giving the
likes of Kate Moss something to worry about
- (or Twiggy).
Clevedon Photographic Society had arranged
to use us as models for ones of their 'Practical
Evenings'. We learned the first rule of modelling
- be patient. Still, the beer was cheap for
those old enough to drink.
The Camera Club learned the first rule of wind
bands - if you ask 15-odd nervous musicians
to 'play for real', without music or proper
supervision, you're likely to end up with a
deafening row.
We were guided through the complexities of
posing for cameras by the excellent advice of
local amateur photographers - 'What do you want
me to do?' wails Clare, seated at a drum. 'Look
pretty and hit it!' replies a voice from behind
a large-lensed Canon.
We hope both groups will benefit from this
venture - the Camera Club got some interesting
models, the Wind Band should get some useful
pics for posters, web-site etc. and both groups
hope for a write up in the local freebie paper
complete with photo of them shooting themselves
shooting us.
Clevedon Photographic
Society meet on Monday evenings at the Function
Room of the Triangle Club, Clevedon.

The feature finally hit the newstands
at the end of February 2000. A long wait,
but well worth it - within 24 hours we
had an invitation to perform in a series
of concerts in St John's Church, Weston-super-Mare.
